Many Farmers do not know the best time for weeding. Some Farmers only weed when they notice the weed growth rate is faster than that of the maize  they planted.

There are 2 methods for Weed Control
1.       Manual Weeding
2.       Chemical Weeding

1.       Manual Weeding: To get accurate weed control with manual weeding it is best to weed your maize farm twice i.e 

a.       First Weeding :- Weeding your maize farm on  the 2nd or 3rd week after planting.
b.      Second Weeding:  This takes place on 5th or 6th week

2.       Chemical Weeding: Most time it is very advisable to go to the market and get prescription from seller of what chemical to use or use this :

... Get 4-5 litres of Prim extra in about 300-400 litres of water (per hectare).. Apply by using Knapsack Sprayer.
